1968 Custom Mackenzie Cuttyhunk 30

Watch Hill, Rhode Island

$150,000

ENCORE is special.  She hosted numerous dignitaries and celebrities in her time as a fishing boat for day charters out of Montauk, and went out to the Georges Bank and did some hard core duty.  And while the Mackenzie Cuttyhunk is highly respected for her fishing capabilities. these glorious boats are also known as elegant, drop-dead gorgeous designs.  ENCORE would win any Mackenzie beauty contest for sure, as she has been highly customized and totally restored to perfection.  Snediker Yacht Restoration did a complete treatment to the hull, decks, and interior, adding elements usually found on the highest end yachts.  And as a result, ENCORE is a custom, high-end design.  Her fishing days have ended and replaced with history tours and afternoon runs out of Watch Hill, RI, where she is a well known member of the local classic yacht fleet.  Come see for yourself - this is no ordinary Mackenzie - she retains all the manners of the Mackenzie's, and adds customized detailing and amenities which make her very, very special.

OVERVIEW

It would be impossible to properly describe a vessel such as ENCORE as well as the photographs do.  And even then, I believe one needs to see the boat in person to get a true feel for the special nature, condition, detailing, functionality and beauty of this handsome and gorgeous boat.

Her cockpit is vast - but set up now more for day cruising than fishing.  The unfinished teak surfaces ooze traditional quality and functionality.  The varnished mahogany details strike a special balance with the raw teak. The chrome of the engine controls, the jeweled chrome instrument panel, the varnished mahogany dash, companionway and cabinetry are spectacular.  The brown diamond stitched upholstery is the perfect compliment to the other materials found on the boat.

Her varnished Mahogany windscreen, radar mast, anchor pulpit and butterfly hatch are wonderful.  The Butterfly hatch itself is worthy of anyone's admiration - the detailing is superb, with awesome poured glass panels, bronze hardware and mechanical opening system - just amazing.

ENCORE's interior takes it up another notch - with perfect Herreshoff type finished of white panels and varnished mahogany trims.  The Navigator Stove Works Little Cod blue enameled wood stove is a centerpiece of the galley, but my eye is drawn forward to the invitation of the luxurious vee berth, with lovely cabinetry, finishes, and comfort.  And that skylight is even better from below!

Even the head reeks a simple elegance, with a beautiful Italian porcelain sink, a traditional faucet and an electric toilet.

Bronze, Chrome, Teak, Mahogany - all combined to create a very unique and functional vessel that will make you smile every time you see (or even just think about) her.
