VESSEL DETAILS

 OWNERSHIP HISTORY:

MAGIC in hull number 139 of the Dyer 29. She was featured on the cover of Yachting Magazine in December 1976. Named FREEDOM at the time, she was used by her first owner to commute from Stamford, Connecticut to Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island.   Her second owner (named Eugster) was a custom boat builder and restorer in Huntington, Long Island. The boat was then called AJAX.

A yacht surveyor and specialist in yacht repair and restoration, Eugster made scores of custom improvements both cosmetic (e.g. custom headliner in the cabin and teak interior as well as shelves, teak on the sides of the cockpit where rod racks often go) as well as operational (e.g. an electric windshield wiper fluid device to clean salt from windshield during operation).

The current owners purchased Ajax in June 2011.  They renamed her Magic and over the next two years had the original builders at Dyer perform over $40,000 of additional improvements — e.g. new canvas which has virtually never seen the light of day except the top which is new in 2021, a cushioned back seat with Adirondack style back, new cushions throughout, new engine box and cushion with pop up headrest and extendable footrest,  new adjustable pilot and co-pilot seats, new electronics and flush mount instrument panel, electric head and macerator with Y valve for overboard or holding tank discharge, teak trim and details throughout, swim platform and hidden stainless swim ladder etc.
