"The new Pearson True North 33 is absolutely elegant in its simplicity. This is not a complicated mega-yacht with a plethora of onboard systems to maintain. And there’s no fancy Euro styling — just good, plain Downeast-style functionality and craftsmanship. Everything on board the True North 33 is there for a purpose — and it serves its purpose well. You’ll appreciate this boat’s simplicity, along with its rugged reliability, even more as time goes on — because you’ll be able to enjoy going out on the boat instead of being a slave to a high-maintenance regimen."   Boating World, June 1, 2004

CYGNUS is one of the highly desirable TRUE NORTH 33's. Known for their well-behaved handling, efficient operation and surprisingly quiet sound levels, these boats never last long on the brokerage market.  And CYGNUS is a great example of the design - featuring the larger 440hp engine, and many updates including Stars and Stripes Awlgrip, recent canvas and privacy covers, new AGM batteries, New charger/inverter, and recent Ultraleather cushions on the helm deck.

Boasting low maintenance, high quality SCRIMP construction and practical functionality, the True North 33 is a fantastic option for the way many people go boating today.  We highly encourage your inspection of CYGNUS - please give us a call to make an appointment.

TRUE NORTH 33 CYGNUS

The True North 33 s legendary for quality of construction, seakeeping capability, low maintenance, high efficiency, high utility and a distinctive profile that features a plum bow and a sweeping reverse transom that draws the eyes and hearts of boat lovers everywhere.

LAYOUT:

There are many unique features on this boat, and her layout both above and below is certainly a stand-out.  The design focusses on living spaces above decks - where most people prefer to spend their time.  As such, she has a large, voluminous cockpit with a fully-opening transom - turning the entire cockpit into both a large swim platform as well as making this a perfect platform for pulling aboard a dinghy, the kid's Optimist, your kayaks, paddleboards, etc.  Or just leave it open and get out the teak deck chairs and relax.

The cockpit opens forward to the pilothouse, which has hard partitions port and starboard of half-height.  The rest of the rear bulkhead is soft, allowing the helm deck and the cockpit to be opened up to each other when desired.  Access to the foredeck is via wide side decks with excellent SS hand rails, and protected outboard by the factory optional extended bow railing.

In the pilot house, one finds the main living area for both underway and at rest activities.  The dedicated Stidd helm seat is to starboard. Opposite to port is a large bench companion seat.  This seat raises and lowers via electric controls, and the seat back reverses to become a rear-facing lounge-level seating.  Directly aft is a cocktail/dining table which also raises and lowers electrically, and aft of that is a forward facing bench seat.  So you can decide how you want to set the area up - as a dinette, as an additional double berth, as two forward benches, etc.  Furthest aft on the port side is a Corian Counter top with storage below.

Opposite to starboard, and aft of the helm, is the l-shaped galley, featuring a Frigoboat SS fridge, a two burner propane stove, a Tappan microwave, and a SS sink with hot and cold running water. The counters are matching Corian.

Visibility and ventilation on the helm deck are excellent -= with large, open glass areas, an opening center windshield, sliding glass side windows, and two overhead hatches.

The companionway to the belowdecks area is on the centerline, and provides access to the primary sleeping area, in the form of a large Vee-berth with filler.  This is Aft of the berth to starboard is a set of drawers and a hanging locker.  Opposite to port is a surprisingly large head with Vaccuflush toilet, sink with H&C water, shower, shower sump and substantial storage.

There are a number of other storage areas including under the vee berths, lockers and cabinets in the helm deck, and lockers and lazzarettes in the cockpit area.
