Sabre 386 - main image

2011 Sabre 386

location icon Stonington, Connecticut
Year 2011
Length 38'7 ft
Price
$250,000

The Sabre 386 was a fantastic success for Sabre, an impressive Jim Taylor design which set the standard for 38 foot performance criuisers.  INDEFATIGABLE is the best example of the Sabre 386 this broker has been aboard.  This boat will knock your socks off - she shows very little use, a high degree of maintenance and is ion beautiful condition inside and out.

Awlgripped by Dodson Boatyard over the winter of 2017/2018, she had two seasons in the water and has been stored in a heated indoor facility since the end of the 2019 season.  Covid and a relocation out of the country have prevented the owners from using the boat, and they are now placing her for sale as they realize it could be some time before they are able to use her again.

Please review the details of the listing and feel free to ask any questions you may have.  If you are looking for a 386, and you appreciate having a pristine boat, INDEFATIGABLE should be on your "must see" list. It is unlikely you can find one that is nicer than this. Highly recommended!

VESSEL DETAILS

INDEFATIGABLE is one of the last of the Sabre 386 models built.  She is a one owner boat, and her owners have maintained her to the nines.  She has certainly had an easy life, and it shows. All her exterior surfaces shine, her varnish is proper and fresh, and her interior is equally impressive.  Even her bilges are super clean!

Much has been written about the 386, so I will not repeat all the details here.  Suffice it to say that the photos tell the story, perhaps better than words.  In addition to the standard boat features, she many factory options and pre-delivery upgrades.

INTERIOR OVERVIEW:

The Sabre 386 has an exceptional layout with two private sleeping cabins, a very ample galley, a proper nav station, and a fantastic salon. The head, located adjacent to the companionway, is large and has a roomy separate stall show, with great storage.

The interior wood is a very luxurious American Cherry, with a teak and holly cabin sole. The cabin sole was varnished as a factory option.  The salon upholstery is a lovely upgraded Ultra leather.

Significant ventilation is provided through polished aluminum hatches, stainless steel opening ports and stainless cowl vents with dorade boxes.

The companionway stairs are wide, and deep - and not steep.  The stairs hinge to allow access to the engine compartment.

There ample handholds for moving about the cabin while underway.

This is a bright, comfortable interior that sleeps up to seven when using the salon for additional berths.

  • Two opening ports, a large overhead hatch and cowl/dorade box ventilate this area

Manufacturer Provided Description

Sabre's attention to detail is well known. Whether it be the style and grace of her shear, the intricate details of a deck tooling blending comfort, safety and good looks, or the details found in the hand crafted interior joinery, Sabre Yachts stands alone in quality and reputation.

The Sabre 386 embraces the standards which have put Sabre's name atop the quality spectrum of boatbuilding for the last 35 years. Current Sabre owners and those who have followed the brand over time, will see details here which make it feel familiar.

Details which make sense, which add to comfort, security and well being. Logical details that, above all, make each Sabre design a great, safe and beautiful sailboat. But details from the past are just part of the story. Keeping up with technology has to go hand in hand with our desire to build the finest possible sailing yachts for our clients.

The Sabre 386 hull is built using vacuum bagged, closed cell, cross linked PVC Divinycell foam and structural E Glass, which gives her one of the strongest, lightest, most durable structures available today. Her deck is also cored with Divinycell.

Hull lines, underwater appendages and rigs were drawn by Jim Taylor Yacht Design. The deck, deck styling and interior were accomplished by the Sabre Design Team. The result is a yacht which, like her siblings, will establish a benchmark in sailing that will endure for many years to come.
