2006 Grand Banks 49 Eastbay HX

Portsmouth, Rhode Island

$699,000

The Eastbay 49 is arguably the top classic downeast style coastal cruising boat ever designed.  From the desk of Peter Boyce of C. Raymond Hunt Associates and built by Grand Banks, the EB 49 solidified the success of the then growing Eastbay product line. With classic Hunt performance, and legendary Grand Banks craftsmanship, the EB 49 remains one of the most sought after "under 50" cruising platforms to this day.

Hull 91 was built for a yachtsman whose painstaking attention to detail culminated in many custom factory built features such as the custom reversible-companion helmseat, separate clothes washer and dryer.  MOXIE has enjoyed the benefit of the current and previous owners who have taken exceptional care of the vessel including the replacement or upgrade of many features and systems including the addition of a brand new tender and outboard.  In addition, the service and maintenance history record keeping is unprecedented.

MOXIE is available for immediate delivery.

WALKTHROUGH

Enter the spacious cockpit through the transom door on her extended swim platform or via teak steps on both port and starboard sides. The cockpit features teak decking, aft-facing integrated bench seating with storage beneath, hot/cold shower, and a TNT Hydraulic Tender lift system. Shorepower is accessible through the Glendinning Cablemaster with 50-amp white cord. There is also a manual bilge pump, three (3) lazarette hatches for plentiful storage and main engine room access which opens up on hinges to reveal a staircase into the engine room.

The aft helmdeck is accessed via an entry door from the cockpit and boasts a new hard glass enclosure installed in October, 2020. To port  is a large L-settee with storage beneath and a hi/lo teak yacht table. Forward of the settee to port is a companion benchseat which stows a refrigerator below on the inboard side, a footrest forward and a storage locker on the outboard side. A custom integrated drink holder, binocular holder, and additional storage unit is located outboard. Forward of the reversible bench seat, a teak lid opens to reveal a locker with the Bose sound system, and there is a 16,000 BTU Marine Air air handler unit below with GB chart locker positioned above.

To starboard is a straight settee with a second 16,000 BTU air conditioner positioned aft of the settee. The Captain's STIDD helmseat is forward of this settee on starboard. Outboard is another custom integrated drink holder, binocular holder and locker, identical to the port unit. A second engine room access hatch is located in the center of the helm deck area. The new hard glass enclosure encloses the helm deck from the cockpit to keep this area cool and free from inclement weather. Two opening hatches, two opening side windows with screens, and an electrically operated opening center windshield window forward all provide natural ventilation.

Step down into the lower deck to find a great area for dining or entertaining with a U-settee with teak table to starboard. This U-shaped settee easily converts into a single berth for extra sleeping space. There is an abundance of storage in this area with two lockers and an open storage space between them.

Adjacent to the dining/lounge area is the galley to port with a Princess electric range/oven with ceramic cooktop and cover, Sharp convection oven, upgraded Granite countertop, large stainless steel sink, and teak cabinetry. The Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer units face aft with an upper freezer unit locker with Sharp convection outboard. Inboard is another storage locker. On outboard fore and aft of the oven are opening lockers; one houses a freezer and the other offers deep storage for larger items. An overhead locker with three cabinets for galley storage faces aft. Below the cabinetry and on the inboard side is custom storage with glass and bottle holders, four drawers, trash bin and an additional storage locker. There is one opening port.

The spacious master stateroom is forward and features the Grand Banks traditional teak interior with beautiful teak and holly sole (this teak & holly sole is throughout the vessel's interior). There is a queen centerline berth with steps up the berth, two 12V queen Cantaluppi reading lights, and sliding storage locker. This stateroom offers exceptional storage spaces with two large drawers, one smaller drawer and two opening lockers forward. There is a cedar-lined hanging locker to starboard. To port aft are two storage drawers with opening locker beneath. Above are more storage drawers and one additional opening locker. Under the berth are two drawers and the top portion of the berth opens up on hinges to reveal a large storage compartment underneath. Another hatch is in the center.

The guest stateroom is midship to port with twin single berths, hanging locker and additional drawer storage under a berth with two drawers forward. Hanging locker storage is outboard between the berths with a hatch over the aft berth. Louvered doors on either side of the guest stateroom entry hide the full-sized Asko washer and dryer units; these are custom installed under a berth and positioned forward on the port inboard side. The two single berth configuration remains the same.

The guest head is in the companionway to starboard with a Dometic Master Flush head and Corian shower floor with drain. A Corian countertop with sliding storage above the sink, one storage drawer below and an additional storage locker forward. Natural air and lighting is provided through an overhead hatch. There is also a vent, teak toilet paper holder and towel racks.
